Commencing my artistic journey at the age of four, I immersed myself in the study of painting, gradually rendering myself impervious to both praise and criticism. Unswayed by external opinions, I remain resolute in drawing what resonates with my intent. I cultivated the ability to discern between good and inferior artworks early on, and with time, coupled with my maturation, I embraced a continual process of transformation and evolution—a vital trait inherent to the artistic temperament.

Within the sanctuary of my thoughts, the masterful works of revered maestros compose a living anthology, serving as the guiding lights of my artistic education. Despite their brilliance, I acknowledge the occasional flaws present in their creations. For they, too, are human. Consequently, I strive to emulate their brilliance while deftly avoiding their pitfalls, to distill the immediacy of human existence onto the canvas. At the core of my artistic creed lies the imperative to breathe life into the canvas, instilling vitality into each brushstroke—a philosophy that I impart to all my students. This vitality, characterized by a nuanced manifestation of spiritual and cognitive essence, reflects my belief in the fundamental affinity of mankind with peace and kindness. In light of this, I aspire for my artistic expression to soothe like a serenely clear stream amidst the cacophony of existence. (2019)

It has been many decades since I first got into the business of painting. A painter, just like writers and musicians, not only focuses on describing social and natural scenery, but also more importantly expresses the multifarious emotions and reflections of the self. Increasingly as I age, my art is more and more centered around the expressions of my thoughts, the depiction of my own experiences and feelings; I might even say that I disregard all other plausible topics. My parents always taught me to approach reality with kindness, to the point where I learnt how to overcome bitterness and evil with a countenance of calmness and accepting good will; I would like to think that my paintings express the same disposition.
